Sobhana Kattha

Sobhana kattha is an extra weft “Baavanbuti” sari woven with cotton yarn hand spun on the Kisan Charkha and woven on a pit loom. Sari yarns are dyed with Catechu (Kattha) and turmeric (Haldi). It has traditional motifs in kora & turmeric – yellow on 1 meter anchal with smaller motifs adorning the rest of the sari length of 6 meter.
1 meter blouse has turmeric yellow in weft, it is embellished with fine small motifs in white.
The traditional weaves of Baavanbuti in extra weft are Bun.kar Bihar’s humble efforts to revive and promote the state’s rich handloom heritage.
